Hourai - The Binding of Isaac

Hourai is a character in Reverie, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.

Inherits the starting items of the character that Hourai possesses.

Hourai is a special character that cannot be directly selected from the main menu. To play as Hourai, the game needs to first be entered with a different character, and the dichromatic butterfly in the starting room must be killed.

The butterfly will spawn a Hourai doll upon death. Touching the doll will make Hourai possess the current character and corrupt the character into Hourai permanently. Touching the doll again will restore them to the original character.

Upon dying to one of the following 8 death conditions, Hourai will be revived once per floor, and spawn a random item from the respective item pool, along with some pickups:
• Enemy Collision: Treasure Room item pool, 10

Pennies.
• Explosion: Secret Room item pool, 3 Bombs.
• Blood Donation: Angel Room item pool, 3

Hearts.
• Devil Deal: Devil Room item pool, 3

Black Hearts.
• Cursed Door: Curse Room item pool, 3

Soul Hearts.
• Fire: Shop item pool, 3 Batteries.
• Enemy Projectile: Boss item pool, 3

Keys.
• Laser: Planetarium item pool, 3 random cards.

After Hourai revives, -1 heart container, +1 broken heart.
