The Enigma's Burden is a passive item in A Bushel of Burdens & Blessings, a mod for The Binding of Isaac. It is part of the Wilted Blessings submod.

Enemies have a 20% chance to hold cursed cards above their heads.

They will drop a random card upon death.

The cursed cards' effects will activate if their holders are not damaged for 6 seconds.

Damaging the holder resets the timer.

Each cursed card comes with various effects:
• II - The High Priestess: Evokes the effect of II - The High Priestess?.
• IV - The Emperor: The enemy becomes a large champion.
• VI - The Lovers: Spawns 100 HP worth of copies of that enemy.
• XIII - Death: Deals one full heart of damage to Isaac's last heart.
• XV - The Devil: Spawns a Begotten.
• XVI - The Tower: Spawns 6 Troll Bombs, essentially activating the effects of Anarchist Cookbook.
• XXI - The World: The current floor gets 2 random curses.

Drops 11 random cards, runes, and/or soul stones at the start of the next run.

This item is exclusive to the Tainted Treasure Rooms mod and may appear within a Tainted Treasure Room as a counterpart of Lazarus' Blessing.
