The Rot is an unlockable passive item in Community Remix, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.

On pickup Grants Isaac Rotten Heart and spawn 4 Blue Flies.

While held Causes Isaac to respawn Blue Flies after they died.

The number of respawned flies depends on how many Rotten Hearts Isaac has.

Upon entering new floor have a chance to remove one of Isaac's items and replace it with number of The Rot copies equal to lost item's quality (items with quality 0 gives 1 Rot).
