Shion Beggar is a machine in Reverie: Make Good Omissions, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.
If available, costs an item with the food tag to play, otherwise costs 5¢ to play.
After donating an item with the food tag, the beggar will always pay out with an item from the Shion item pool and leave.
If 5¢ are donated, there is a 25% chance on the first donation to pay out with an item from the Shion item pool and leave. If no payout, the payout chance increases by 25% for the next 5¢ donation.
Cannot be destroyed.
Each donation grants -0.5 luck.
Most items in
Shion item pool are associated with misfortune, curses, hunger, beggars, poverty, and malice.
This beggar can drop all "beggar"-type familiar items, a nod to
Shion Yorigami popular fan designation as the "Leader of the Beggar Sect".
This beggar can also drop
Sword of Hisou because the item's associated character,
Tenshi Hinanawi, is frequently portrayed in doujin works as a well-known close friend of
Shion Yorigami.
The design choice where donating to this beggar causes a decrease in the luck reflects
Shion Yorigami's ability to
capable of making people unlucky, including herself.
